Happy 4th birthday!

These past four years have seemingly sped by within the blink of an eye. So much has happened in this time, in the world and at home, including the rehoming of thousands of preloved books from my hands into the hands of their next readers. I am so passionate about helping books find their way around the country or even overseas to international readers. I’m most especially passionate about finding readers in remote locations or in small towns where bookstores and second hand bookstores have closed down in recent times, leaving bookworms with little choice but to buy online. Though while it’s a disappointment to see second bookstores and independent retailers closing down, there is some comfort to be taken in having your order delivered to your door.

As I’ve mentioned before, I started this online bookstore during Covid (the idea proposed by my lovely husband), when times were scarily uncertain (and still are, for so many other reasons). While books might be seen by some as a luxury as opposed to a necessity, I know there are so many readers, bookworms, bibliophiles (or whatever we fancy calling ourselves) out there who know that when there’s a crisis, one thing you can rely on is disappearing inside the pages of a novel at the end of the day, or when everything just gets too hard (or as always) purely for the love of reading.

And this is why I keep building this small business, from my own home, and will continue to do so. Please share the word, tell your friends about Birch Books, have a browse, rehome a preloved book or download an eBook. There are thousands of fabulous books in stock and literally something for everyone.

So happy 4th birthday to Birch Books xxx

PS  This is a photo of my daughter (17 months old at the time of Birch Books launching) checking out the website to give her approval. And proud Mumma that I am, our girl is currently in Prep and is an avid book lover and obsessive reader, just like her Mumma xxx
