I'm sure there are plenty of other people out there like me who can't resist buying more than one copy of a favourite book when they see it with a different cover. I own countless copies of Jane Eyre and also more than one copy of Lord of the Flies, For Esme - With Love and Squalor, and The Beautiful and Damned.
I was thinking about these multiple copies of books the other day when I picked up this copy of The Great Gatsby. I haven't seen it before, and in some respects - considering the rich plot of the novel - it's quite a simple cover, but in that simplicity there's an elegance to it that draws you in. It also looks a little like a watercolour painting, which makes me want to frame it and hang it on the wall. But I won't, because this copy is (reluctantly) going into the shop.
If you feel like sharing, please tell me what books you buy multiple copies of, just because you love the covers so much.
